Hi all, I may hae touched on this before, but I am going around in circles. As I have SOOOOOO much trouble with my Decklink HD Extreme, is there another card people recommend ? The think just fails to boot up so many times. No one seems to be able to help, I am just about ready to replace it now.

Cheers

Richard

Richard,

On our experience the Decklink Extreme and Decklink family In general are very stable if you install them on any compliant system. Asus P6T deluxe boards are our reccomended platform (P6T Deluxe are an excellent choice also for Decklink Studio and we are not understanding why Black Magic is reporting on the site they are not compatible with it.)

In my opinion you should try to change your system board instead to leave the decklink card. you could continue to have the same type of problems with different frame buffer cards.

Hi Roberto, I think I might have to rebuild my system with a new board. I have also had Intel boards recommended ? I was incorrect sorry with my current board. It is a GA-EX58-UD5 which is a little better than the previously posted model.

About Intel X58 boards I ve some doubts. These boards are reported as uncompatible from Black Magic with Decklink Studio and Intensity. I can be sure only about Asus P6TD Deluxe, P6T DEluxe or P6T Deluxe V2 are 100% compatible being the boards we are using here to build the software and customers systems.

Hi Richard,
besides compatibility, Gigabyte products are good, but they have an high failure rate after warranty expiration (2 years here). Asus boards usually last for many years after warranty expiration.
Best Regards,

Paolo
