I currently use a VelocityQ turnkey machine. Leach is no longer supporting turnkey machines and VelocityHD may not continue. Is IVS Edits the replacement for Velocity? If not, should I purchase the VelocityHD software and breakout box and spec out a new PC and purchase the the ivsPowerPack 2007 software?

I am trying to stay away from lengthy render time. I need to be able to work in the timeline without having to render.

Do you have any solutions for my situation?

Hi Michael,
there are more solutions for you; what's wrong with your workstation? VelociyHD has some advantages over VQ, but usually it is the right choice if you have to handle HD post or if you need more simultaneus audio I/O. In other way I suggest you to complete your workstation with ivsPowerPack, in order to get much more productivity from it. ivsPowerPack gives a future to Velocity3D and VelocityQ.

ivsEdits could be a replacement as well as a complement for Velocity, since, currently, their features are different. Rendering? We want to "ban" it from your timelines.
About your second idea, VelocityHD is not a software, it is a "system" based on Altitude hardware and Velocity software, and to switch to VHD you'll be (probably) compelled to swap your workstation.

Best Regards,

Paolo Castellano

Recently we had to replace the Quatrus board. This board is no longer made acording to Leitch. also the D drive is failing. If I replace the drive I still have the possability of the Quatrus board failing along with the MEDIA array.

Is IVSEdits software only? I tried to commuicate with your two US vendors from your web site in regards to the IVS package. I have not heard from the as of yet.

Michael,

can you explain better your problem with D drive ? are you discussing of P drive?

ivsEdits is a software only package but anyway some dealer after the scheduled release date could begin to sell their own turn key systems.

Best Regards
