How does one "collect" multiple dva/dps files? When I select multiple dva files, it causes ivdEdits to crash. These a 'legacy' files captured on the Velocity-Q system. I've placed both the dva and dps files in the Media/AV folder. Should they be placed in different folders?

John,

ok we are able to repeat the problem with your DVA. We will fix it as soon is possible. Anyway DPS file is ok and you could move all 1K DVAs in another folder until we will fix the problem considering these files are not relevant.

John,

normally, ivsEdits can work on DPS files w/o DVA files. ivsCapture can capture DPS files with DVA w/o audio streams. However ivsEdits cant load files created by Velocity with Unify checkbox turned off. We will check your files to understand where is the problem.

Roberto is working on this problem. I will update this thread when information is available. Velocity systems allow a user to choose whether the capture Audio or not. This is the source of the problem I've encountered. When you do not capture Audio along with your Video .dps file, Velocity creates a .dva file (1Kb) that serves as a "pointer" to the associated .dps file. IVSEdits is not recognizing these "pointer" files as valid. Hopefully Roberto and his brother can find a workaround to allow a user to Collect .dps only files.

Roberto, I just sent you an e-mail with links to two files on my web-site: a .dva and its matching .dps. The .dps file is too large to e-mail directly. I've confirmed that the 1kb .dva file will crash ivsEdits when I attempt to collect it. The program also crashes if I attempt to collect just the .dps file; the same result if I attempt to collect both files at the same time.

Roberto, I think I've found the problem: dva files that contain no audio, but only the "pointer". I often shoot "product" shots, but do not capture the "audio", only a dva "pointer" to the dps file. If I select tthe dva for those shots, the program crashes.

I can select multiple .dva which include a normal audio track and everything works properly.

However, if I try to collect ONLY the .dps file for "product" shots, the program crashes.

I can collect one file at a time (selecting the .dva file which aotomatically links to the .dps file). However more than one file at a time causes ivsEdits to crash. I've attempted to load 20+ at a time, but any more than one results in a program crash.

I'm also unable to output any .mov files. Perhaps I should re-intstall ivsEdits.

hello John,

it is very strange, what happens collecting one file only?
how many files are you attempting to collect?
are there corrupted files?
