My main concern as Today is the audio "pan or center option", if Vel 10 does not have that option, how the editors make the sound from a mic of a interview recorded in channel one to be played mono in left and right audio channels?... or mix audio channel one with two or left and right mixed together, I do not if anybody else but I use that a lot, I don care if is called pan center or mixed... just want to know how I would do it in the present time? with IVS...
I do a lot of live events and live music shows where I need to create kind of simulated stereo in some cases from audio of 2 or 3 cameras, plus interviews etc.....
Thanks
Diego

Roberto don't get mad with me... I really want to make this work.. In vel 8 when you unsyc 3 stereo audio tracks you have 6 mono multichannel audio tracks too....I think you deserve a great respect for what have you done .. I'd never have a doubt of your great product.. I am trying to speak as the voice of a lot of editors with same concerns..
I'll check on the Vel forum about this topic... and I need to meet with Danilo and do more tests...
Regards
Diego

Diego,

Velocity 8 is stereo or mono only while the world is definitively multichannel.
Now all professional VTRS have 8 or 16 channels so the Velocity 8 audio scheme is not praticable and to make any user happy is more hard. Probably for you is not important to get 5+1 but for others is important like to get 4 Ch Mono. To create an adequate crossover requires a bit of time. Also Harris has been not able to satisfy customers having the 90% of the application ready, I hope you will give a bit of credit to us that we have built a software starting from the scratch in 23 Months.

Thanks Roberto, I know I have been a little pushy with this topic, what I do not understand is why if Vel-Ver 8 the audio features worked fine, why change it? and use the Ver10 as reference? while Ver 10 has so many Bugs?, like we say here in USA "if works fine.. don't change it".. I am still a litle bit confused with the solution you gave me...of course will be much easier having the Software in front of me to play with more time...I will pretty soon... Thanks for your time, all the best!!

I understand your concerns and reporting the feedback got from some Velocity 10 users: The new release is very few useful if compared with previous versions being the panning very important for them.
With ivsEdits the mono audio is centered on both channels but If you need to place on specified channel as temporary workaround you can use "Audacity" creating a stereo track with your speaker on the left or on the right as you prefer. We need a bif time to prepare a clip based cross over.
